Memorials to the Missing OPENS tomorrow

Eight and a half million died fighting for their countries in WWI. One man fought to see them accounted for and remembered.

A man with a heart for both reverent remembrance and social equality, Sir Fabian Ware reflects on The Great War, his Red Cross work with the fallen, and his passionate struggle to memorialize all the casualties (not just the wealthy and high-ranking) where they fell, under identical gravestones and with beautiful architecture. His efforts created stunning works of art across the landscape, sites where families of the fallen could visit and remember, places where visitors even now are moved to tears.

Weds - Sat, Feb 17-20 and 24-27 at 7:30, in the University Theatre on Hampton Rd.

Tickets $15 at ODUArtsTix.com or 683-5305
