CCPO & MARI Seminar Series - Feb. 15, 2016

The next CCPO and MARI seminar will be presented on Monday, Feb. 15 by Dr. Eileen Hofmann from CCPO. This seminar will present results from the Eastern US Continental Shelf Carbon Budget (USECoS) project, which is a NASA-funded Interdisciplinary Science Project. The overall goal of the USECoS project is to investigate the
impact of climate variability, climate change, and land-cover/land-use change on the transport and cycling of carbon and nitrogen to and within the coastal ocean margin. This goal is being addressed using a coupled modeling system that includes ocean circulation, biogeochemical and terrestrial components and uses satellite and field measurements. Simulations provide the basis for understanding carbon and nitrogen cycling through land and ocean reservoirs and how these might change in the future. This seminar will focus on simulations designed to address nitrogen fluxes and variability.

See the attached announcement for more information.
*NOTE: The next CCPO & MARI seminar will be Monday, March 14 because of the Ocean Sciences Meeting and ODU spring break.
