42nd Annual Madrigal Banquets this Friday & Saturday
The Old Dominion University Department of Music invites you to its annual Madrigal Banquets on Friday, Dec. 2 and Saturday, Dec. 3 at 6:30 p.m. in the atrium of the Diehn Fine and Performing Arts Center. Tickets are available until noon on Thursday, December 1 at ODUArtsTix.com and (757) 683-5305.
The ODU Madrigal Singers, Collegium Musicum, and Sacbut Ensemble will entertain diners with music from the Renaissance by composers who were born or worked in Italy, as well as with holiday carols, including the grand “Italian Pipers’ Carol” and other festive carols to announce the season of yule.
This ODU tradition of 42 years has delighted audiences during the holiday season and is a perfect outing for those seeking a special evening of music combined with a wonderful meal and a warm, inviting atmosphere. A full-course meal of Italian fare will be served by candlelight in the decorated atrium. Wine is available by the glass or carafe at an additional cost and with proper ID.
Ticket prices are $40 for individuals, $35 each for groups of 6 or more, $35 for ODU faculty and non-ODU students, and $20 for ODU students with valid University ID. Tickets must be purchased before noon on Thursday, December 1 at ODUArtsTix.com, (757) 683-5305, or at the ODU Box Office in the University Theatre, 4600 Hampton Boulevard, Norfolk, Monday–Friday 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Parking is available in the 49th Street garage at Bluestone Avenue.
