A Look Behind Those Golden Arches

Many of you pass the McDonalds on Hampton Blvd or other locations on your way to school or work.  There is a new book out, " RAY & JOAN: The Man Who Made the McDonald's Fortune and the Woman Who Gave It All Away." 

  This new work by Lisa Napoli isn't " exactly a storybook relationship under the arches " but a look at their romance and marriage, the growth of this fast-food empire where billions of burgers are sold everyday and how their fortune came to be given away.

  We can see some evidence here in Norfolk with the newly built Ray and Joan Kroc Corps Community Center with the Salvation Army.
