New! Monarch Profile Manager
Dear ODU Community,
When you return on January 4th, we will have deployed Phase I of the Profile\Directory Improvement Project (https://www.odu.edu/its/news/2015/4/profiles). Included in this deployment is a new online directory profile page and a new tool to update your profile information – the Monarch Profile Manager. Phase II is being planned to provide customized departmental directory lists. These are both parts of a multi-project University-wide web enhancement program (www.odu.edu/website/projects/enhancement).
This initiative has been guided by a faculty steering committee with the goal of improving the way people find and view faculty, researchers and staff at ODU. A product review group, made up of nearly 30 faculty across all of our colleges, provided input at key times. In all, more than 70 people were involved in the product reviews. The result is a revised search results view, an improved profile page, format improvements for faculty citations, and an online profile manager that allows us to request changes from a single location.
What this means to you:
Your online directory profile page has a refreshed look and you can use Monarch Profile Manager to manage your directory profile page. If you are instructional or research faculty, you have improved citation formatting. If you are a classified employee or administrative faculty, you can add information to your profile page.
What do you need to do?
1. On or after January 4th, view your online directory profile. Go to www.odu.edu/directory and search for your name. It is possible that some fields may have changed during this migration, so please verify your information.
2. If you would like to change your profile or update your information, click on the “update your directory information” link at the bottom of your profile page. This takes you to the Monarch Profile Manager.
3. For faculty, the Faculty Activity System (FAS) can be accessed from within the Monarch Profile Manager. Keeping your FAS information up-to-date will allow certain parts of your online profile to reflect the information that is important to you and to ODU.
