Cecil Smithson's Retirement Reception
<p> Can anyone imagine life in Webb Center without Cecil Smithson? He has been an integral part of every meeting and event held in Webb since 1975. After thirty-eight years of service to Old Dominion University and Webb Center, Cecil will retire on January 1, 2014. Cecil exemplifies a model of hard work, attention to detail and friendly, attentive service to everyone who uses Webb Center. He has been a tremendous employee who excels at customer service.</p> <p> Cecil’s retirement is our loss, but a well-deserved respite for him. After almost forty years of taking care of students, faculty and staff he can finally take time to enjoy his hobbies: gardening, fishing and caring for the many birds, fish, frogs and other critters in his menagerie.</p> <p> We will honor Cecil with a farewell reception in the Hampton/Newport News Room from 3-5 p.m. on Wednesday, January 15. We invite all to stop by to extend their good wishes.
