2014 AUA Monarch Professional Award

<p> <em>As the evaluation cycle for Administrative/Professional (AP) faculty comes to an end later this semester, a good way to recognize and celebrate the success stories of a colleague for the past academic year is to nominate him/her for one of our recognition opportunities below.&nbsp; We encourage you to nominate a fellow AP faculty member for one of our recognition opportunities this year.&nbsp; Recipients of each award will receive a $500 recognition bonus, an individual plaque, an engraved nameplate on the University Awards Wall in Webb Center, and will be recognized at the AUA Awards Breakfast and the University Faculty Awards Dinner at the end of the spring semester.&nbsp; Questions concerning the awards may be directed to Trey Mayo, AUA President, at </em><em><a href="mailto:rmayo@odu.edu">rmayo@odu.edu</a></em><em>.&nbsp; We look forward to receiving your nominations. </em></p> <p> <strong>The Association of University Administrators (AUA) call for nominations:</strong></p> <p> <strong>2014 AUA Monarch Professional Award</strong></p> <p> The Association of University Administrators (AUA) seeks nominations for the 2014 Monarch Professional Award.&nbsp;</p> <p> The objective of this award is to recognize <strong>mid-level administrators and professionals with a developing body of work</strong> at the University who demonstrate exceptional performance in their position.&nbsp; The developing body of work should support at least one of the categories below.</p> <p> Letters of nomination should not exceed three pages and nomination packets shall not exceed 20 pages.</p> <p> Nominators are encouraged to provide supporting letters and are responsible for collecting all supporting letters and materials.&nbsp; Letters should reference the 2014 AUA Monarch Professional Award.&nbsp; Electronic packets will be accepted provided they are complete at the time of submission.</p> <p> <u>The deadline for&nbsp;nominations is Monday, March 3, 2014 no later than 5 p.m.</u>&nbsp;Nomination packets should be submitted to:</p> <p> &nbsp;</p> <p> Terri Mathews</p> <p> AUA Past-President</p> <p> 135 Oceanography and Physics Building</p> <p> Norfolk, VA 23529</p> <p> <a href="mailto:tmmathew@odu.edu">tmmathew@odu.edu</a></p> <p> &nbsp;</p> <p> Final selection will be made by a committee of former Administrator of the Year and Monarch Professional Award recipients.</p> <p> <strong>ELIGIBILITY:</strong></p> <p> Nominees must:</p> <ul> <li> &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Be designated by the University to be an AP Faculty member;</li> <li> &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Be at the <strong><u>level of director or lower in terms of position title</u></strong>; and,</li> <li> &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Have made a major contribution to the Monarch community within a reasonably recent time frame.</li> </ul> <p> If you are unsure about your nominee&#39;s eligibility, please contact Human Resources at (757) 683-3042 for assistance.</p> <p> <strong>Criteria for the AUA Monarch Professional Award:</strong></p> <p> The nominee should demonstrate exceptional performance in the following areas including, but not limited to:</p> <p> <em>SERVICE</em></p> <p> Evidence of contributions that have made an impact on the campus community.</p> <p> <em>EFFECTIVENESS</em></p> <p> Evidence of leadership, irrespective of administrative position; advocacy for students and/or staff; contributions to morale; improvements of processes and procedures.</p> <p> <em>PROFESSIONAL ACCOMPLISHMENT</em></p> <p> Evidence that the nominee has excelled in presentations, publications, teaching, research, continuing education and/or recognition by professional organizations which benefited the University.</p> <p> &nbsp;</p>
