Banned Book Week Approaching

Thinking about the singular impact that books have had on us as individuals and on the civic life of our communities brings us to Banned Books Week, which will be celebrated in libraries and bookstores across the country from Sept. 22 to 28. Conceived more than three decades ago in response to attempts, often led by parents or school officials, to censor books, Banned Books Week is a time to rejoice in—and defend—the freedom to read.

The Village Bookstore has a great selection of Banned Book titles and a brief history as to why they were banned. We invite you to stop by the Village Bookstore.
