ODU eTextbook Pilot: Free eTextbooks for your students

ODU has been accepted to participate in a fall 2013 e-textbook pilot organized by Educause and the Internet2 consortium. The pilot program will utilize free McGraw-Hill e-textbooks to explore, evaluate, and advance the transition from traditional media models to electronic platforms.

Information Technology Services (ITS) has partnered with the Center for Learning and Teaching (CLT) for the fall pilot to obtain feedback on faculty’s use of e-textbooks and student opinions about their learning experiences when using an e-textbook.

Participation in the pilot is limited and faculty will be selected on a first come, first served basis; interested faculty should contact Paula Jamison, Director of User Services (ITS) (pjamison@odu.edu; x 3199) for additional information.

The Executive Summary from the Educause Center for Analysis and Research: Understanding what higher education needs from e-textbooks: An Educause/Internet2 Pilot may be accessed from the link below.

Fall 2012 eTextbook Pilot Report – Executive Summary
