Ernest Hemingway 95 Years Ago
<p> Ninty-five years ago this week.Ernest Hemingway was severely wounded in WW I. In July, 1918, an eighteen year old Hemingway was on the Austrian-Hungary front working as a Red Cross ambulance driver at the time, an experience that shaped his 1929 novel, <em><strong>A Farewell to Arms.</strong> </em></p> <p> The Pulitzer prize winning author for <strong><em>" The Old Man and The Sea " </em></strong>in 1952 and who died in 1961 left us a legacy in a wide variety of works that</p> <p> the Village Bookstore has available. <strong><em>" For Whom the Bells Toll " to" To Have or To Have Not " </em></strong>seem to be immortal works of literature.</p> <p> These titles and books by other notable authors are now available ata the Village Bookstore.</p>
