Author Dinner Deadline Extended to April 8

<h3> Friends of the Old Dominion University Libraries</h3> <h3> <strong>Annual Author Dinner and Silent Auction</strong></h3> <p> The Friends of the Old Dominion University Libraries will hold their Annual Author Dinner and Silent Auction on Thursday, April 18, 2013.&nbsp; The dinner will be held at the Norfolk Yacht and Country Club, 7100 Hampton Blvd., Norfolk.&nbsp;&nbsp; There will be a reception at 6:00 pm, followed by a buffet dinner.&nbsp; The cost of the dinner is $40 per person ($35 per Friends L ife Member). &nbsp;<u>Reservation deadline has been extended to April 8.</u></p> <p> The guest speaker this year is Dr. Craig L. Symonds, Professor Emeritus at the United States Naval Academy, where he taught naval history and Civil War history for thirty years.&nbsp; Dr. Symonds will speak on his latest book, <strong><em>Lincoln and His Admirals</em></strong>.&nbsp;</p> <p> The Annual Silent Auction will be held, featuring a certificate for a portrait of your house, entertainment opportunities, restaurant gift certificates, and merchandise from some of the area&rsquo;s finest boutiques.&nbsp; The Silent Auction is one of the major fundraising endeavors supporting the Friends of the Libraries.</p> <p> The Friends of the Libraries Outstanding Achievement Award will be presented to a faculty member from the College of Business and Public Administration.&nbsp; The award winner will be announced at the dinner.</p> <p> For further information, or to make a reservation, please contact Fern McDougal at 683-4146 or at <a href="mailto:fmcdouga@odu.edu">fmcdouga@odu.edu</a></p>
