<p> join the Norfolk Chamber Consort as it concludes its 44th season with &quot;Great Poles,&quot; a program featuring music by three great Polish composers: Fryderyk Chopin, Karol Szymanowski and Witold Lutoslawski.&nbsp;&nbsp; The performance will take place in the Chandler Recital Hall on Monday, April 15, starting at 7:30 PM.</p> <p> The concert will open with the rarely-heard Rondo for two pianos by Chopin as performed by the Invencia Piano Duo, followed by his &quot;Polish Songs&quot; sung by soprano Rachel Holland. This part of the concert will conclude with Chopin&#39;s magnificent Cello Sonata, played by cellist Jacob Fowler in his Consort debut in collaboration with pianist Andrey Kasparov.<br /> <br /> The second part of the concert will open with the Consort debut by a Polish pianist Anna Kijanowska performing the sophisticated Mazurkas, Op. 50, by Szymanowski. Annika Jenkins, a sensational young violinist from Virginia Beach, will join Kijanowska in Szymanowski&#39;s stunningly coloristic and virtuosic &quot;Nocturne and Tarantella.&quot; The Szymanowski portion of the performance will end with his dazzling and technically challenging Variations in B-flat Minor, Op. 3, as performed by Oksana Lutsyshyn.<br /> <br /> The final part will feature the music by Lutoslawski, opening with his &quot;Five Songs&quot; in a rendition by Rachel Holland, followed by the humorous &quot;About Mr. Tralalinsky&quot;, with soprano Agnes Mobley-Wynne and contralto Kelly Montgomery joining Holland and Kasparov. The concert will conclude with Lutoslawski&#39;s brilliant &quot;Variations on a Theme by Paganini&quot; performed by the Invencia Piano Duo.</p> <p> <br /> A pre-concert discussion by Allen Shaffer will commence at 7:15 PM.
