Brain-Computer Interface Research at ODU

<p> <strong>Frank Reidy Research Center for Bioelectrics Seminar</strong></p> <p> <strong>All are invited</strong></p> <p> &nbsp;</p> <p> <strong>&quot;</strong><strong>Brain-Computer Interface Research at ODU</strong><strong>&quot;</strong></p> <p> &nbsp;</p> <p> <strong>Abstract:</strong></p> <p> A brain-computer interface (BCI) is a system that allows a user to control a device directly using their brain activity. &nbsp;BCIs decode measurements of brain activity and translate them into device commands.&nbsp; BCIs and related technologies can be used in assistive, rehabilitative, augmentative, diagnostic, or therapeutic applications.&nbsp; The Advanced Signal Processing in Engineering and Neuroscience (ASPEN) Lab at ODU focuses on the analysis of both scalp- and intracranially-recorded electrical brain signals for BCI applications.&nbsp; This lecture will provide an overview of the state-of-the-art BCI techniques, including brain signal acquisition, signal characteristics, decoding and translation approaches, and applications.&nbsp; Recent ASPEN Lab research involving language decoding and robotics will be highlighted.</p> <p> &nbsp;</p> <p> <strong>Dean J.
