<p> <strong>Frank Reidy Research Center for Bioelectrics Seminar</strong></p> <p> <strong>All are invited</strong></p> <p> </p> <p> <strong>"</strong><strong>Brain-Computer Interface Research at ODU</strong><strong>"</strong></p> <p> </p> <p> <strong>Abstract:</strong></p> <p> A brain-computer interface (BCI) is a system that allows a user to control a device directly using their brain activity. BCIs decode measurements of brain activity and translate them into device commands. BCIs and related technologies can be used in assistive, rehabilitative, augmentative, diagnostic, or therapeutic applications. The Advanced Signal Processing in Engineering and Neuroscience (ASPEN) Lab at ODU focuses on the analysis of both scalp- and intracranially-recorded electrical brain signals for BCI applications. This lecture will provide an overview of the state-of-the-art BCI techniques, including brain signal acquisition, signal characteristics, decoding and translation approaches, and applications. Recent ASPEN Lab research involving language decoding and robotics will be highlighted.</p> <p> </p> <p> <strong>Dean J.
