Diehn Concert, Windscape with Andrey Kasparov and Oksana Lutsyshyn
<p> This especially designed performance, co-sponsored by the Norfolk Chamber Consort under the direction of Andrey Kasparov and Oksana Lutsyshyn, pairs works by Mozart and Poulenc written for wind quintet and quartet and piano brings to the Diehn Concert Series a unique opportunity for our students and the public to hear these rarely performed compositions ODU music students a series of unique master classes provided by world renowned musicians.</p> <p> Created in 1994 by five eminent woodwind soloists, Windscape has won a unique place for itself as a vibrant, ever-evolving group of musical individualists, an "unquintet" which has delighted audiences throughout the US, Canada, and Asia. Windscape's innovative programs and presentations are designed to take listeners on a musical and historical world tour; music and engaging commentary evoke vivid cultural landscapes of distant times and places. As Ensemble-in-Residence at the Manhattan School of Music, Windscape brings extensive teaching experience to motivational residencies. Their most recent CD features the works of Dvorák. Their performance of Bach's Art of the Fugue with the Orion String Quartet, premiered for NY's Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center, was recorded for Deutsche Grammophon and will be available on iTunes.
