Records Management at ODU

<p> Do you have stacks of records you aren&rsquo;t sure what to do with?&nbsp; Are you unsure what the laws are regarding recordkeeping?&nbsp; Do you ask yourself &ldquo;how long should I keep records&rdquo;, &ldquo;what can I image&rdquo; and &ldquo;are my records subject to the Virginia Freedom of Information Act?&rdquo;&nbsp; The answers to these and other records management questions can be found through services provided by Bruce White, ODU&rsquo;s University Records Manager.&nbsp;</p> <p> Some of the services he offers:</p> <ul> <li> General presentations on topics such as the Virginia Public Records Act (VPRA), Email, Freedom of Information Act (FOIA), and Protection of Confidential Information</li> <li> Training to individuals or groups that can be tailored to your needs;</li> <li> Consultations on creating and maintaining efficient record-keeping systems;</li> <li> Assistance with destruction records (RM3 forms);</li> <li> Research requirements relating to the management, maintenance and retention of records;</li> <li> Aid in transferring historical records to the University&rsquo;s Special Collections and Archives.</li> </ul> <p> Bruce can be reached at <a href="mailto:blwhite@odu.edu">blwhite@odu.edu</a> or 683-7017 or you can visit ODU&#39;s Records Management website at: http://www.odu.edu/about/compliance/records</p>
