"The Public's Role in Public Art" Colloquium Set for 3 p.m. Nov. 1

<p> The time listed in Monday&#39;s InsideODU for the Humanities Institute&#39;s upcoming colloquium, &quot;The Public&#39;s Role in Public Art,&quot; was incorrect. The program, part of the College of Arts and Letters&#39; Colloquium Series, will start at 3 p.m. and continue until 5 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 1, at the Baron and Ellin Gordon Art Galleries.</p> <p> &nbsp;</p> <p> The colloquium will address what constitutes public art in Hampton Roads and who gets to make such decisions. The cultural, economic, legal, social and spatial dimensions of public art will be explored and include perspectives of both scholars and practitioners.â ¨&nbsp;</p> <p> Presenters for the colloquium are: Tim Bearse from the art department;â ¨ Tom Chapman from the political science and geography department; â ¨ODU alumna and public artist Elizabeth Cooke &rsquo;05; and â ¨Robert Wojtowicz, associate dean of the College of Arts and Letters at ODU.</p> <p> For more information contact Stacey Parks at sparks@odu.edu.</p>
