Affordable Care Act--Oct 30

Please join the University Women's Caucus for a presentation and Q&A about the Affordable Care Act on Wednesday, October 30 @ noon in the Hampton/Newport News Rooms-Webb Center. This brown bag lunch will feature Dr. Karen Remley, former Health Commissioner for the Commonwealth of Virginia, who resigned over regulations that would require abortion facilities to meet strict, hospital-style building standards that many clinics say would put them out of business. Already two clinics have closed. Dr. Remley is now the Founding Director of the EVMS M. Foscue Brock Institute for Community and Global Health, which is focused on leveraging EVMS' clinical, research and educational programs to positively affect specific health priorities in Hampton Roads.

Dr. Remley's discussion will focus on how the Affordable Care Act impacts women.
