She teaches Corporate Finance and Investments. She is a graduate of both Miami University in Oxford, Ohio, and the University of Pittsburgh.

It is her belief that the more we can make our teaching relevant to our students’ daily lives, the more good we are doing as teachers. She strives to use relevant practical examples to illustrate theories, and in so doing, hopes that she is giving her students not only an academic education, but stronger life skills, as well.

In her Conversation, she will share some of the ways she has used real-world examples to engage students and to further their learning, and she hopes to hear some of her colleagues’ examples, as well.

For more information about the Provost’s Conversations on Teaching and Learning series, including highlights from past years’ Conversations and a calendar of upcoming Conversation dates, visit the Conversations’ website at http://clt.odu.edu/pctl – or you can view past Conversations on your iPad.
