Leadership and Management Development Certificate Program (LMDC)

<p> At Old Dominion University, we believe that a well-trained team of leaders and managers is able to inspire others, foster attitudes that create quality, and add value and excellence to products and services provided to all customers. <strong><em>You do not have to be a supervisor or manager to enroll in the LMDC program.</em></strong>&nbsp; This program is designed to build strong professionals who exemplify the skills and abilities that make them a positive example to others.&nbsp;</p> <p> The <strong>L</strong>eadership and <strong>M</strong>anagement <strong>D</strong>evelopment <strong>C</strong>ertificate <strong>P</strong>rogram (LMDC) provides ODU employees the opportunity to learn and share experiences and knowledge with colleagues and experts.&nbsp; The goal of the program is to provide participants with tangible knowledge and resources in the areas of leadership, communication, diversity, management practices and self-development.&nbsp; Upon completion of the program, participants should be able to assimilate what they have learned to their work environment.&nbsp;</p> <p> The three tracks are designed as building blocks that start with the more fundamental and lead to the more advanced aspects of leadership.&nbsp; Regardless of your experience or position, we ask that you <u>start with Track 1</u> and work through each track.&nbsp;</p> <p> If you are a previous participant and have individual modules that you wish to make up, please contact Cheryl Foreman (x4316)&nbsp;or Thasheena Cutno (x3082)&nbsp;to confirm which modules you need to complete and we will register you for the individual classes that you need.&nbsp; You <strong><em>cannot </em></strong>register online for individual classes.&nbsp; Our online system will only allow you to register for an <strong><em>entire</em></strong> track.</p> <p align="center"> Our 2013 training schedule is currently available on the <a href="http://www.odu.edu/ao/humanresources/forms/ldmc2012.pdf" target="_blank">HR/Training website</a><a href="http://www.odu.edu/ao/humanresources/forms/LMDC2013.pdf" target="_blank">.</a></p> <p align="center"> <strong>Track One</strong>&nbsp;begins 2/7/13 - 4/18/13</p> <p align="center"> <strong>Track Two</strong>&nbsp;begins 2/14/13 - 4/25/13</p> <p align="center"> &nbsp;<strong>Track Three</strong> begins 5/2/13 - 7/18/13</p> <p> &nbsp;Classes fill up fast, so please complete your registration via the <a href="https://covkc.virginia.gov/odu" target="_blank">ODU Knowledge Center</a> as soon as possible.&nbsp; <strong>You will receive an email confirmation on the status of your registration after you register</strong>.&nbsp; If the Track fills up prior to you being able to enroll you will be placed on the waitlist.</p> <p> <strong>Registration Instructions</strong>:</p> <ul> <li> Go to&nbsp;<a href="https://covkc.virginia.gov/odu" target="_blank">https://covkc.virginia.gov/odu</a>.</li> <li> Log in with your Knowledge Center Login ID and Password (not your LEO Online credentials)</li> <li> Go to the&nbsp;<strong>Learning Center</strong></li> <li> Click on <strong>Course Catalog</strong></li> <li> Type in the appropriate keyword for the Track you are registering for: <ul> <li> Track One Keyword: TA 2013</li> <li> Track Two Keyword: T2 2013</li> <li> Track Three Keyword: T3 2013</li> </ul> </li> <li> Click on the appropriate section link (ODU-LMDC Track 1, ODU-LMDC Track 2 or ODU-LMDC Track 3)</li> <li> Click <strong>Enroll</strong></li> <li> Click <strong>Access Item </strong>(You are enrolled in the program, be sure to mark your calendar).&nbsp;</li> </ul> <p align="center"> For questions related to registration, please contact</p> <p align="center"> Ray Gat at ext.&nbsp;5139 or via email <a href="mailto:rgata@odu.edu">rgata@odu.edu</a></p> <p align="center"> Thasheena Cutno at ext. 3082 or via email <a href="mailto:tcutno@odu.edu" target="_blank">tcutno@odu.edu</a></p>
