Message from the Dean

Dear Colleagues,

I am writing for two reasons. First, I wanted you to know that I'm thinking of you and your families as we all grapple with the challenges evoked by the current COVID-19 situation. I encourage you to abide by the guidelines recommended to keep yourself, your loved ones, and the larger community as healthy as possible. You are valued colleagues, and your safety and well-being are key concerns of the College.

I am also writing to thank you for the flexibility and dedication you are showing as we work toward moving courses to formats that will enhance public health and safety. Please know that the College and its units stand ready to support you in this transition process. I encourage you to submit any related needs that you have to your department chairs or unit heads, if you haven't already done so.

Finally, as President Broderick noted in his message this afternoon, you can visit the www.odu.edu/covid19 website for helpful information about how to stay healthy and for regular updates about the COVID-19 situation.

Thanks again,

Kent Sandstrom, Ph.D.Dean, College of Arts and Letters
