CHINA: ‘China Enlists U.N. to Promote Its Belt and Road Project’, Foreign Policy, 10 May 2018

At an African Union summit in Addis Ababa, UN Deputy Secretary-General Amina Mohammed suggested African leaders boost their economies by participating in China's Belt and Road Initiative, a plan to invest a trillion dollars or more into the construction of ports, roads, and railways across dozens of countries from East Asia to East Africa. The promotion highlighted the UN's curious role in China's public relations campaign to sell the Belt and Road to the developing world.
