The College of Arts & letters invites you to the annual Constituion Day celebration and virtual discussion, "Modernizing American Democracy" featuring Jamelle Bouie on Thursday, Sept. 17 on Zoom. Jamelle Bouie is a columnist for the New York Times' Opinion section and political analyst for CBS News. A Virginia Beach native, he covers campaigns, elections, national affairs and culture. Prior to working at the Times, Bouie was chief political correspondent for Slate matazine. he also served as staff writer at The Daily Beast ad held fellowships at The American Prospect and The Nation magazines. He attended the University of Virginia, where he graduated with a degree in political and social thought, and government. Bouie is also a photographer, documenting his surroundings using digital and analog tools.
