Join ODU Department of History Professor Michael Carhart for an introduction to the “Kirchen Postilla,” authored by Martin Luther and published at Wittenberg in 1550.Luther himself died in 1546, but the piece, a liturgical and homiletic aid for pastors in his reform movement, continued to be published in his name posthumously. Perry Library Special Collections contains a copy of the sixteenth-century book. Events sponsored by the Department of History, the Institute for Jewish Studies and Interfaith Understanding, the Institute for the Humanities, the Department of Art, the Art History Association and the ODU German Club.
