Diehn Concert Series: Harold Protsman Classical Period Piano Competition Finals - 2:30pm The Department of Music of Old Dominion University will hold its 28th annual Harold Protsman Classical Period Piano Competition Saturday, March 21, 2014. Preliminaries will begin at 8:30 a.m. For this year’s we are pleased to announce that pianist and teacher, Edmund Battersby , will judge the final competition at 2:30 pm. All events will be held in the F. Ludwig Diehn Center for the Fine and Performing Arts, corner of 49th St. and Elkhorn Avenue. In 2007, the Old Dominion University Classical Period Piano Competition was renamed in honor of Professor Emeritus Harold Protsman in recognition of his many years of dedication, professionalism and service to both the competition and the Music Department of Old Dominion University. The competition is funded, in part, by an endowment established at the Hampton Roads Community Foundation, made possible by a generous gift from Mr. and Mrs. F. Ludwig Diehn, a grant from the Virginia Cultural Foundation and by generous gifts from Helen and Warren Aleck.
