Description
Gallery hours are Tuesday – Saturday 11 a.m. – 5 p.m. and Sunday 1 – 5 p.m. (the Galleries are closed on Mondays). Richmond-based artists Fiona Ross and Alan Rosenbaum tread the line between abstraction and representation by focusing on form and process, yet still inviting reference and association. Rosenbaum, who aptly describes his ceramic sculptures as “uncanny” and “intimate,” juxtaposes linear and rounded, smooth and rough, and organic and mechanical. Ross offers a series of delicate paintings on paper and a site-specific wall drawing, that, according to the artist, “create a feeling of both stillness and awareness of the constancy of natural forces.”
