Senior Project Scientist George Hagerman Discusses Wind Turbines on Coast Live

George Hagerman, senior project scientist at ODU's Center for Coastal Physical Oceanography provided an overview of wind turbines on WTKR's Coast Live.

Hagerman, who was co-interviewed with Bonita Billingsley Harris, Dominion Energy media relations manager, offered a lesson in what host April Woodard called "Offshore Wind 101."

In July, Dominion Energy broke ground for the largest U.S. offshore wind project announced to date. The first phase of the project, located off the coast of Virginia Beach, was the installation of two turbines. When completed in 2026, 200 turbines will provide enough power to service 650,000 homes.
