Across Campus - A Photo Essay

Nearly 1,000 people turned out at the Naro for two screenings of "American Dreamer," a dramatic thriller directed and co-written by Old Dominion University alumnus Derrick Borte '91. After a VIP reception, the 500-seat theater appeared to be almost full for Saturday's screening. David Mallin, director of ODU's film program, said more than 25 ODU students worked on the Hollywood production, which opened in 12 cities across the United States last weekend. "American Dreamer" will be released nationwide on Friday. Photos Chuck Thomas/ODU

Owen's House

Vendors from across the state displayed samples of their furniture in the Broderick Dining Commons lobby on Sept. 23. Students could scan QR codes to vote for the furniture they would like to see in Owens House, a 470-bed residence hall that is scheduled to open in the fall of 2020. Photo Chuck Thomas/ODU
