ODU Libraries Participate in NPL Author Fair

Jessica Ritchie, Head of Special Collections and University Archives, and Steve Bookman, University Archivist, will be participating in the first annual NPL Author Fair at Slover Library on March 3-4. They will be among 50 local authors from a wide variety of genres and subjects who will be presenting their work to attendees.

Ritchie and Bookman will be presenting their new book chronicling the history of Old Dominion University, from its inception as the College of William and Mary at Norfolk, when the only building was a former elementary school, to the present day, and a campus that covers 251 acres. The book covers everything from diversity at ODU to academics and innovation to athletics.

Be sure to check out the "Researching for Nonfiction Writing" panel on Saturday, March 3 at 10:15 a.m. to ask questions from the ODU experts, along with authors Bill Sizemore and Chris Dickon, about how to best research for your next nonfiction work. Can't make the panel? You can make an appointment with the ODU Special Collection staff to discover what original source materials are available in the ODU Libraries archives that can be used for your next nonfiction project.
