The four recipients of Old Dominion’s Hugo Owens Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Award spoke briefly during Thursday evening’s Martin Luther King Jr. Day observance program, addressing the theme, “A Legacy of Service.” Pictured are, l-r: Christine M. Darden, Jack L. Ezzell Jr., Maurice A. Jones and Dr. Patricia King. “We honor a towering figure in American history by working each day to make the world a better and more just place. These four individuals represent the ideals of hard work and compassion that Dr. King espoused," said Cecelia Tucker, assistant to the president for community relations.
