Spring Fever – A Photo Essay

Daffodils were yellow,

The sky a brilliant blue,

Spring was here but briefly,

Then bid us all "Adieu."

Right on cue, spring-like weather arrived on Thursday, the first day of spring, in the form of sunny skies and warm temperatures. The change in weather, which was most welcome but lasted only through Saturday, invited many outdoor activities on campus at the start of the new season before the cold air returned.

These students took advantage of the warm weather to relax and read on the Rogers Hall boardwalk.

The benches and banks of the Oceanography and Physics Building pond proved inviting for a number of students Thursday afternoon.

Multiple Frisbees could be seen on Kaufman Mall Thursday afternoon.

The men of ODU – including students and administrators – showed their support for ending violence against women during the Walk a Mile in Her Shoes event. The annual fundraiser benefits the YWCA of South Hampton Roads.

Students worked on their banner for an upcoming Greek Week competition.

The lion statue outside Webb Center cooperated by standing perfectly still as the subject for these drawing students.

Students enjoyed the sunshine and mid-60s temperature on the Webb Center steps.

A bench by the star magnolia trees outside the Oceanography and Physics Building prompted students to take off their backpacks, and sit a spell.

This student paused to check his messages outside Constant Hall.

The daffodils at the east end of Kaufman Mall offered some welcome color to the grounds at the start of the season.
