and make sure you are rating the course properly.  Also make sure that you are evaluating the correct instructor.  Some courses have multiple instructors.

Frequently Asked Questions

When can I evaluate my course?

For semester long courses (fall and spring), you may evaluate a course during the three weeks before the last day of classes.  Evaluations close at midnight of the last day of classes.

If the course is less than the standard 16 weeks, it can be evaluated during the last week of the course.

Note that not all courses can be evaluated and that summer courses may only be evaluated at the Instructor's discretion  (see "I can't see all of my courses links."

How do I access my evaluations?
You must log in using your university student email account ID and password. In most cases, this is the same as your MIDAS account and password. Users who have both student and faculty/staff email account must use the student email account ID and password. This information is NOT submitted as part of the evaluation data, therefore ALL EVALUATIONS ARE ANONYMOUS.

I don't have an account.
You can set up both your MIDAS and email account at https://midas.odu.edu.

I have an account, but have forgotten my internet password.
You can change your internet password yourself at https://midas.odu.edu.

I did not receive an email for course evaluations.
This may be caused by one of several issues:

  • You may not have activated your email account
  • You may have exceeded your allotted Disk Space Quota or
  • You may be forwarding your mail to a different mailbox.
  • The courses for which you are registered are not courses that are evaluated.

Learn how to manage your disk space, increase Disk Space Quota, or activate your email/MIDAS account at https://midas.odu.edu.

I can't see all of my courses links.

You should see links for those courses that you are eligible to evaluate. For semester long courses (fall and spring), you may evaluate a course during the three weeks before the last day of classes. Evaluations close at midnight of the last day of classes. If the course is less than the standard 16 weeks, it can be evaluated during the last week of the course.

For summer courses, you will be eligible to evaluate a course only if your instructor allows it to be evaluated. Additionally, there are courses that are not evaluated, specifically Independent Studies, Tutorial, Dissertation/Thesis, Lecture/Studio, Programmed Instruction, Computer-Assisted Instruction, Telecourse, NonCredit Instruction and Pre-ISI/Inactive/No Type.

I have a course in my list that I am not registered for.
This may be caused by a couple of issues:

  • Officially, the University has you listed as "registered" for that course. Please contact the Registrar's office.
  • Submit evaluations only for those courses with the correct instructor name. It is typical for some courses (for example: Nursing) to have multiple instructors listed. Please disregard those courses you see with an instructor who did not teach you.

To Evaluate The Courses

Click on the link "Proceed to Evaluate Course(s)" above. This system works best with Internet Explorer (IE) 5.5 or above.

  • Log in using your University student email account-id and password.
  • Click on the course to evaluate it. Remember to note the scale: 1 - Strongly DISAGREE to 5 - Strongly AGREE. Once you submit the evaluation, you will receive an acknowledgment, and the course will be removed from this list (you may have to refresh the page).

The login is used to determine which courses are to be evaluated by you. This information is NOT submitted as part of the evaluation data, therefore ALL EVALUATIONS ARE ANONYMOUS.

Please contact Technical Support Center at 683-3192 for any issues that have not been discussed above.
