The ODU Department of Women's Studies, the ODU Libraries, and the Wikimedia Foundation are hosting a Wikipedia Edit-A-Thon for Disability Pride Month. The disability community is underrepresented on Wikipedia. The goal of the event is to increase the presence and accuracy of information on Wikipedia about disabilities and the disability community. Students, faculty, staff, and the ODU community are welcome to participate. The event will be begin at 12:30 PM on October 17 with a brief lesson on fact checking and editing items in Wikipedia, provided by a representative from the Wikimedia Foundation. Stay as long as you like to contrubite to this project!
The first 30 attendees will receive a free t-shirt and refreshments will be served!
Join us on October 17, 12:30 - 3 PM, in Perry Library, Room 1306. No Wikipedia experience necessary, computers will be provided. No registration required.
