Date: April 9, 2024
Location: via Zoom

Host: Mujde Erten-Unal, Associate Professor and Graduate Program Director, Department of Civil & Environmental Engineering

This session will explore a cross-university, cross-disciplinary collaboration (Coastal Community Design Collaborative , CCDC) that was established for engineering and architecture students between ODU and Hampton University. The collaboration led to an NSF project to model effective trans-disciplinary collaborative research and design in teaching, learning, and productivity. Trans-disciplinary collaborative design can also be called Studio Based Learning. It provides the initial sense of legitimately belonging to a profession, a crucial step toward long-term productivity within the profession that bridges the gap between the academic and professional worlds.
