Florida’s Lisanne Lyons, an accomplished and acclaimed jazz vocalist with strong ties to Virginia, visited Old Dominion University in April for a set of clinics and performances.

A winner of multiple awards from Down Beat magazine, the director of jazz vocal studies at Florida International University is known for what one critic described as “sparkling, scintillating jazz singing.”

These images were taken during an April 11 master class with ODU students.

In addition to leading workshops and performing with ODU’s Jazz Choir, the Jazz Combo and the Jazz Orchestra, Lyons played a concert with the John Toomey Trio on Monday, April 15.
