MPA at ODU prepares students for careers as professionals in public service and provides students who have considerable experience in the public sector an opportunity to enhance their professional knowledge, skills and abilities, enabling them to advance their careers.
Students will become content area experts with body of knowledge in three areas: foundation in public and urban policy, one of two tracks with courses specific to public administration or urban policy, and a foundation in research.
The program enables working professionals to enhance their skills in the areas of policy analysis and public management. With five tracks available, it's easy for professionals to advance their skills and their careers.
This program provides students with the knowledge, insights, skills, and abilities that will enable them to add strategic value and improve support for business unit, programmatic and enterprise goals.
The minor prepares students for citizenship, leadership, and careers in governmental and non-profit agencies and encourages the spirit of volunteerism.
Career planning and internship assistance is available for students in both the MPA and Ph.D. programs.
