Our solution

Medical Modeling

An ODU research team recently created the very smart "virtual pathology stethoscope," which can simulate the sounds of the circulatory and respiratory systems to help medical students recognize the telltale sounds of illness. This advanced technology was licensed to a Texas medical equipment manufacturer.

Communication

One of our researchers, in conjunction with Microsoft's External Research Group, is developing software for mobile phones that uses pictures to help autistic children communicate.

Facial Recognition

ODU's advanced facial recognition technology will increase national security.

Out of the Storm

One of ODU's Virginia Modeling, Analysis and Simulation Center's (VMASC) many projects is to design a smoother hurricane evacuation.
