Dear Colleague,
I am happy to announce the appointment of Annie Morris as Old Dominion University's new director of government relations.
She brings extensive experience both in higher education and state government.
For the last three years, Annie has been deputy director of government relations for Virginia Commonwealth University and its health system. She has helped craft the university's government strategy and has developed strong relationships with members of the General Assembly, as well as the State Council of Higher Education for Virginia.
Annie believes in the mission of a metropolitan research institution, and she shares our passion for student success.
Before she joined VCU, she worked for Royall & Co., a higher education consulting firm, and she served as a top aide in the Virginia Senate and in the governor's office.
Annie received her bachelor's degree in political science and sociology from the University of Mary Washington and expects to receive her master's in public administration next year from Virginia Commonwealth.
We have made significant strides in recent years in working with the General Assembly to provide funding to fulfill the University's educational mission. I am confident that Annie will continue our progress and strengthen our relationships in Richmond.
She will start work on June 18. Please join me in welcoming her to campus.
Sincerely,
John R. Broderick
President
