Creating QR Codes to Support Teaching and Learning | a two-hour workshop with Helen Crompton | 2/27

<p align="center"> <strong>Creating and Using QR Codes to Support Teaching and Learning</strong></p> <p> In this workshop at the Center for Learning and Teaching led by Helen Crompton (Assistant Professor, Teaching &amp; Learning), participants will learn how to use QR Codes in their courses.&nbsp;</p> <p> A QR Code is a type of barcode that typically looks like a small square made up of black and white pixels. These codes are arguably one of the easiest technologies to use and make. In addition the ease of use, QR Codes can provide an enormous amount of teaching and learning opportunities. This short two-hour session will equip you with a variety of strategies that can be used regardless of subject content. Strategies include, but are not limited to, how to make links for homework help, how to create links to audio instructions (take your pick of languages), and great ideas to get your students up out of their chairs with interactive scavenger hunts. This session is for learners at all levels, the technologies demonstrated are free and you will leave confident and ready to easily use and create QR Codes.</p> <p> iPads with a QR code reader app, i-nigma, will be available on loan to test out the ideas during the lesson.&nbsp; You may also use i-nigma or other QR code readers on your own personal devices.&nbsp; Information about downloading the i-nigma app is available at <a href="http://www.i-nigma.com/downloadi-nigmareader.html">http://www.i-nigma.com/downloadi-nigmareader.html</a>.</p> <p> <strong>When:</strong> The workshop will be held on<strong> Thursday, February 27 from 10am-noon.</strong><br /> &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<br /> <strong>Where:</strong>&nbsp; The Center for Learning and Teaching&rsquo;s Faculty Development Lab, <u>Gornto 101</u> or via two-way audio/video at the Higher Education Centers.</p> <div> <p> <strong>To register:</strong>&nbsp; Log in at <a href="http://clt.odu.edu/">http://clt.odu.edu</a> and use the <em>teach</em>ODU module or click Events in the top navigation.</p> </div> <p> &nbsp;</p>
