Across the Campus – A Photo Essay

Several ODU physics majors volunteered their time on Saturday, May 17, to assist with the Jefferson Lab open house in Newport News. For this event, the public was invited to tour the facility where approximately 1,250 scientists from around the world conduct experiments. The ODU Experimental Nuclear Physics Group is one of the largest and most experienced research groups working at Jefferson Lab. In addition to building major detector systems for both the original Jefferson Lab complement and a subsequent upgrade, they are leaders on a wide variety of experimental programs to explore the nature of matter.
