Distance Learning Faculty Forum Set for Feb. 28
The Office of Distance Learning is preparing for the sunset of the satellite and video streaming delivery technologies. In fall 2014, Distance Learning will transition to the online two-way Web conferencing technology that will improve the quality of the learning environment for both faculty and students.
Faculty members are invited to attend the Distance Learning Faculty Forum from 3-5 p.m. Friday, Feb. 28, in 1002 Constant Hall.
The purpose of the forum is to articulate the shift from satellite and video streaming technologies to the university's online two-way Web conferencing solution. A demonstration of the new technology will be presented and the impact on how faculty members teach at a distance and how students can access course content will be discussed.
In addition, information will be shared about upcoming Center for Learning and Teaching training events and one-on-one sessions with Academic Technology Services staff.
Faculty members who are teaching, or have taught, using satellite and/or video streaming technologies are encouraged to attend this faculty and staff orientation to the upcoming technology changes.
