Academic Warning

A student will be placed on academic warning for one term when the student's cumulative GPA falls below 2.0 at the end of a term, including summer sessions. A student on academic warning may not enroll in more than 15 credits per term of attendance. 

Old Dominion University is committed to assisting students in achieving their academic goals. Therefore, freshman students on academic warning are required to participate in a success program sponsored by Academic Success in their next term of attendance. Students at the sophomore level and above are encouraged to participate in other University-sponsored activities. 

A student on academic warning must achieve a cumulative GPA of at least 2.0 at the end of the next term of attendance to be in good standing. Failure to achieve a cumulative GPA of at least 2.0 results in academic probation.
