Suggested Course Schedules

For Students enrolled in the BSN Concurrent Enrollment Program and Undergraduate Postlicensure programs.

The Concurrent and RN-BSN curricula have entry options three times a year. The following are suggestions - not rules - for pairing courses depending on your anticipated number of semesters in the program. Please consider these recommendations as you select your courses. Remember, the summer semester is 12 weeks versus 15 weeks for spring and fall. Consider this when choosing course load.

Considerations

• NURS 401 (Intro to BSN), NURS 402 (Nurse Educator), and NURS 403- Capstone with ePortfolio (eP) - must be taken in different semesters
• NURS 401 must be taken in the first semester
• NURS 363 must be taken during the first or second semester
• NURS 490W is a writing intensive course
• NURS 492- clinical application paper is required in the eP but may not be completed prior to eP due date- not recommended in the same semester as NURS 403
• NURS 403 must be taken in the final semester and is a 4-credit writing intensive including the eP- best paired with an elective to ensure required eP assignments have been completed

Note

NURS 305 (Health Assessment- 3 credit hours) is NOT included below and must be added if you did not have a stand-alone health assessment course during your pre-licensure nursing program.
