At Old Dominion University, graduate students engage in small classes with dedicated faculty who are professionals in their fields. Each of our graduate programs offer challenging courses as well as excellent research opportunities.
Learning the modern way - the ODU way - isn't one dimensional. It sparks your imagination, taps all of your senses, and makes use of today's technologies. It's equal parts thought and action, knowledge and skill. You can't know without doing or do without knowing.
The architects of this experience are masters in their fields, recognized by peers, organizations, businesses, and industries across the country. That's not what gets them excited, though. They're much more inspired by getting to know you, the way you think, and see things; they want to join in discovering how you will make your mark.

Hampton Roads
Hampton Roads is what Norfolk and the surrounding region is called. It's the crossroads of many of the events that shaped America - the very first European settlers in the "New World," the American Revolution, and the Civil War. The marks of those experiences make the city and the region a rich place to explore. Also nearby is one of America's most popular vacation spots, Virginia Beach (20 minutes away), and three hours away is Washington, D.C., with some of the greatest museums and monuments in the world.
