No. ODU and Perry Honors College have separate admissions and enrollment processes. While you may be admitted to Perry Honors College, you must first confirm your enrollment to ODU before you can fully accept your Honors College offer. Admission to ODU does not automatically enroll you in Perry Honors College, and an Honors offer is not finalized until you have confirmed intent to enroll at ODU.

Students with an approved ODU Scholars designation do not need to submit an Honors application.

If you are currently enrolled in high school or have recently graduated from high school, you should apply as a first-year student, even if you earned college credits through Dual Enrollment, Early College, AP, IB, or similar programs. You should have at least 60 credit hours remaining toward your degree when entering Perry Honors College so you have sufficient time to complete the Honors curriculum and graduate as a Perry Honors College student.

The Perry Honors College reviews applications as they are received and sends decisions on an ongoing basis. If admitted, you will still have until May 1 to confirm your enrollment and accept your admission offer.

New to Blue is ODU's official orientation program for all new incoming students. Led by the University Orientation Office, New to Blue introduces students to campus resources, academics, student life, and what to expect as a Monarch. New to Blue is separate from Perry Honors College Orientation and is not held on the same date(s) and time(s).

Perry Honors College Orientation is designed specifically for new incoming Honors students. During orientation, students learn about the Honors curriculum, academic expectations, course registration, Honors opportunities, and the many benefits of being part of the Honors community.

Yes. We encourage students to participate in all new student programs offered by ODU. Perry Honors College Orientation is required for all new incoming Honors students. Attending New to Blue does not replace Perry Honors College Orientation. Honors students are expected to participate in both programs.
