Ian Bartol is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Biological Sciences at ODU.  He received his B.S. from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor and his M.S. and Ph.D. at the College of William and Mary/Virginia Institute of Marine Science.  He was a Postdoctoral Fellow at UCLA and Visiting Postdoctoral Fellow at Caltech before joing the faculty at ODU.

William J. Stewart is a graduate student in the Department of Biological Sciences at ODU.  Bill is working with Dr. Bartol on an NSF-funded project that examines jet propulsion in squid throughout ontogeny.  For his graduate work, Bill is studying the hydrodynamics of fins in the brief squid Lolliguncula brevis.

Angela M. Woolard is a graduate student in the Department of Biological Sciences at ODU.   Angela's research involves studying flows around boxfishes and squids using a new volummetric global flow quantification technique known as defocusing digital particle image velocimetry (DDPIV).  Angela is also working on the squid ontogeny NSF project.

Kenneth Parker is an undergraduate student in the Department of Biological Sciences at ODU.  Kenny is assisting with DPIV data processing and maintenance of seawater systems.

Kathleen Spangler is an undergraduate student in the Department of Biological Sciences at ODU.  Kathleen is also working on the NSF ontogenetic squid project and is working on an independent project examining water flows over the carapaces of sea turtle hatchlings.
