John Adam was winner of a 2007 Outstanding Faculty Award for the State of Virginia. According to the web site for the State Council of Higher Education for Virginia (SCHEV), the Outstanding Faculty Awards are the Commonwealth's highest honor for faculty at Virginia's public and private colleges and universities.
