EXTRA CREDIT
Students have the opportunity to obtain extra credit through participation in a variety of campus and off-campus events. In order to receive extra credit for participating in these events, the following requirements must be fulfilled:
- Attend the event
- Submit a 2-page summary of the event (typed, double-spaced). Hand written summaries will not be accepted.
- Attach the chit (ticket) provided at the event to the summary to verify your participation in the event
- Submit the report no later than one week later or it will not be accepted
Each student can earn up to ten (10) extra points (5 points per event) that will be added to your final point score at the end of the semester. Events for extra credit for Fall 2011 will be added to this list as they become available. Or, you can suggest an event to your instructor who will approve or reject it.

October
October 31 - - Congressman Bobby Scott will speak about environmental legislation in Virginia and nationally followed by a question and answer session. Location: Newport News Room in Webb Center. Time: 3 pm.
November
November 3 - - Professor Glen Sussman will present the College of Arts and Letters Senior Scholar Lecture. Title: "Climate Change and American Politics." Location: BAL 9024. Time: Refreshments, 3:30-4pm. Lecture: 4-5 pm.
November 22 - - "Save our River: The ODU Golf Course is Leaking," sponsored by ODU's Student Government Association Sustainability Committee. Location: Webb in front of the Lion's Den. Time: Activity Hour (12:30 -1:30 pm).
