My Research Program and Publications

My program research is generally guided by two major themes. First, my work reflects a long standing interest in the influence of interpersonal and role relationships on work-related outcomes. I have pursued this interest through a variety of topics, including team effectiveness, newcomer socialization, leader-member exchange, the work-family interface, and diversity. Several of these topics are reflected in grant work supported by the National Science Foundation to study diversity and the underrepresentation of women and minorities in computer science and information technology. The second major theme in my work reflects a commitment to collaboration, boundary spanning, and multi-disciplinary research, particularly the application of I/O psychology to research topics in health, well-being, and medicine.  I love to collaborate with graduate students and much of my work is co-authored with them.
