ALWAYS verify the accuracy of the send-to address when requesting transcripts.
If you select a pre-loaded school or institution, you may need to update the address in your transcript request before submitting.
Official Transcript Request Form
Students and alumni may request official or unofficial transcripts of work completed at Old Dominion University by completing the Official Transcript Form. This form can be completed online and printed, using the Adobe Acrobat Reader. The data you enter cannot be saved with the form.
How to Request Transcripts
Students and alumni can request an official transcript by logging into the LEO Online secure website. A transcript fee of $5 per copy applies, and a credit card payment is required to complete your order. Federal Express and UPS expedited shipping are available for a $30 flat fee per address. Online requests are processed the next business day after your request is made.
NOTE: Students with financial holds will not be able to request a transcript via LEO Online.
You may also use the Official Transcript Request Form, which can be downloaded and submitted to the Office of the Registrar. A paper form can also be obtained in the first floor lobby of Rollins Hall at the main campus, or by contacting your site director for a copy of the form.
You may also submit a written request, including required information, signature, and payment, to the Office of the Registrar, by mail or fax.
- Due to Federal privacy laws, a written or form request with the student's signature is required. We cannot fulfill e-mail or telephone requests for transcripts.
- Transcripts for work at other institutions, including high schools, become the property of Old Dominion University and will not be released to third parties.
- See Holds for information on holds that may prevent the student from obtaining an official or unofficial transcript.
Official transcripts are always mailed (or picked up by the requester) and are only official if in the sealed Old Dominion University envelope. Transcripts issued to the student or picked up at the Registrar's Office, will be stamped "Issued to Student." Allow 1-3 business days for routine processing.
If you have a special deadline, please indicate the date(s) on your request. To check on the progress of a request, check LEO Online, or contact the Office of the University Registrar at email@example.com or call 757-683-4425 (Transcripts option).
The records of individuals who attended Old Dominion University prior to 1985 may not be computerized and additional time should be allowed for the creation of those records (this may take up to 10 business days).
Requests for expedited delivery are accepted; however, there is an additional $25 charge per shipping address for expedited delivery.
Unofficial transcripts are available for viewing on the secure web site at LEO Online and are intended for personal use only. On an exceptional basis, with written and signed request, an unofficial transcript can be faxed to a third party. An official transcript must be requested at the same time and will be mailed to the same third party.
