ODU President Brian O. Hemphill is pleased to announce plans for the creation of a new School of Data Science, featuring a unique collaboration with the nearby Thomas Jefferson National Accelerator Laboratory.
ODU's planned School of Data Science currently includes more than 150 faculty from a range of disciplines including but not limited to computer science, mathematics, statistics, engineering, psychology, criminal justice, education, business, information technology, history, and philosophy.
Why Data Science at ODU?
To learn how to use data for identifying trends and patterns, solving problems, communicating results, and recommending optimal solutions. Students will acquire knowledge, skills, and abilities about the discipline-specific scientific and theoretical concepts critical to data science and analytics.
